Regions

The world of Celesia was created to be the crowning jewel of the Creator Gods when they fashioned the universe. It is a fairly large world, with a circumference of over fifty thousand kilometers. Water covers a little over half the planet. There are nine continents, and five oceans. There are also many groupings of islands, some large enough to hold powerful nations.

Religion, Population, Languages

Each region lists the common, uncommon, and rare religions, racial ethnicities, and spoken languages present. Common religions and ethnicities have a 90% chance of being encountered while traveling through the region; 50% chance for uncommon, and 10% chance for rare. The rarity chance for languages is the chance of a person of the same race of as that language speaking it. The language rarity drops by one step for people not of the same race as the language.

  • Hellscar—A region between the continents of Anowakowa and Anzica, this demon-scarred land once belonged to the Kwihnataabé League, the Pékélati Confederation, and the Teotolmec Empire which contains the sealed Teotolmec Hellmouth.

Asteropa

  • Aerdwyn—The humans of the Aerdwish Isles expanded deep into Asteropa to establish a powerful aristocracy. The Aerdwish Empire had since lost many of its former colonies, but still retains much power on the mainland, as well as its expansionist goals.
  • Azhawinibi—The Azhawinibi Enclave was founded by explorers of the Wimanidoon Confederacy who settled part of the Pravican coast, and is now its own independent nation.
  • Arkonia—The Arkonian Concordat is realm where arcane magic dominates.
  • Barkadhûm—The Kingdom of Barkadhûm is a fierce nation of dwarves surrounded by enemies on all sides in the cold northwest of Asteropa.
  • Brumangor—The Brumangor Enclave is the wintery domain of the Nivescian white dragon clan.
  • Carpathos—The Carpathos League is a loose alliance of cyclopean city-states.
  • Darsa—The Kingdom of Darsa, a human vassal state to the Aerdwish Empire.
  • Drazim-ka—The Kingdom of Drazim-ka is the largest nation of sakkadi in Asteropa, occupying most of the area of the Great Valens Swamp.
  • Erland—The Kingdom of Erland, a human vassal state to the Aerdwish Empire.
  • Frostlund—Frostlund is a cold and harsh land of snow and tundra, home to both human and frost giant tribes that roam the land of mammoths and sabretooth tigers, and great beasts such as white dragons and frost worms.
  • Garazhan—This nation was formed by a legendary hobgoblin general over a thousand years ago. It is now the primary nation for hobgoblins and other goblinkind. Extremely militaristic, it was once very expansionistic until its borders came up against the newly formed Xaos Dominion to its east. Xaos defeated Garazhan, but the mage-emperor found the hobgoblins to be excellent troops and made the nation the empire's client state. Garazhan's hobgoblin armies now serve as an honoured fighting force for the Dominion.
  • Helzharn—The hobgoblin Kingdom of Helzharn was formed by the Venicar Empire's hobgoblin conscripts after the empire collapsed.
  • Huecamoco—The Kingdom of Huecamoco is former colony of the fallen Anzican empire of Zupactec, the result of an invasion of the Kingdom of Rodaria in response for their own invasion of Anzican lands.
  • Hynaeria—This human kingdom is on the east coast and just under 200 years old. It is ruled by a monarchy which supported a a collection of noble families. It is traditionally a feudal nation, formed by uniting the human cities and villages under the threat of the Suldeinor Confedracy.
  • Ilmer—Isolated kingdom of elves in the Cassimi Sea.
  • Incendiar—The Incendiar Range is a stretch of land composed of mountains and valleys, all ruled by the Incendiar red dragon clan.
  • Issos—The Issosi League is a federation of pre-dominantly human city-states.
  • Istval —The Istval Heartlands is the central region of the Istvali Peninsula, and is home of numerous petty kingdoms originating from both the region's native peoples, and attempted conquests from foreign powers.
  • Jormgrundar—The Jarldom of Jormgrundar is the frost giant nation of Asteropa, located in the wintry north of the continent.
  • Khadzagar—The Khadzagar Republic is a coalition of mostly hill dwarf city-states, focused on production and trade.
  • Krussivyk—Harsh northern land populated by giants, witches, and fairies.
  • Lakinutok—The human Kingdom of Lakinutok lies in the frozen north of Asteropa, yet somehow manages to prosper despite the harsh climate.
  • Lehdan—The Kingdom of Lehdan controls part of the northern coast of the Crescent Moon Lake,.
  • Lurindor—The Lurindor Combine is ruled by a collection of merchant companies in a feudal manner. Composed of mostly humans and halflings, commerce is the cornerstone of their world. It lies on the western side of the Sea of Lurin.
  • Malbarek—The Kingdom of Malbarek controls part of the northern coast of the Crescent Moon Lake.
  • Maldurant—The Maldurant League is a collection of city-states owing allegiance to the city of Maldurant.
  • Merassimi—The Merassimi Heartlands is the last, unconquered land of the human Merassimi tribes.
  • Minossus—The Minossi League is a loose alliance of minotaur city-states of the region of Minossus.
  • Morghendarr—This nation is the last dwarven empire on Asteropa, a survivor state dating back from the Age of Twilight. It is a collection of dwarven underground cities among several mountain ranges, and above ground villages that lie between them. It is located in the northern region of Asteropa, north of the Valkirk Republic.
  • Muldor—The Muldori Plateaus is an untamed region, home to legaren and various giant tribes.
  • Navaraith—The great forest of Navaraith is now home to the Navaraith Council, a coalition of towns and villages that make the forest home.
  • Norgrimm—The Norgrimm Moors are filled with marshes, plains, and hills. It is home to numerous orc tribes that roam the land on worgs. Although the tribes sometimes clash with one another over land and resources, more often than not, they will gather and pour out to neighboring lands to raid them. Other, smaller tribes make their lives here, among them are goblins, kobolds, and some human tribes.
  • Oxyeleos—The Oxyeleos Dominion is made up of massive swamps and marshlands, ruled over by the Furvuleos black dragon clan.
  • Parmacia—The Kingdom of Parmacia human vassal state to the Aerdwish Empire.
  • Pendrik—The Kingdom of Pendrik, a human vassal state to the Aerdwish Empire.
  • Pravica—Once a powerful empire, the region is now broken into independent city-states with a rich culture of nomads and superstition.
  • Radimus—The Holy Radimus Empire was founded by the human god Radimus. It is ruled by his clergy and it is law that he is to be venerated above all other gods. The empire exults that humans are meant for great things, and that they stand above all other races. It treats other races as second class citizens, sometimes benignly to more civilized ones such as elves and dwarves, to outright genocide for goblins and orcs.
  • Remulor—The legaren Kingdom of Remulor rules over treacherous terrain, which allowed the wolffolk to continue resisting against Venicari expansion.
  • Rodaria—The human Kingdom of Rodaria controls the islands and part of the western tip of the Istvali Peninsula.
  • Sarkovia—The Principality of Sarkovia is a large, but decadent, human nation with a dark and bloody history, with many horrific monsters laying wait in the night.
  • Shuliwan—The Shuliwan Dominion, a large tract of land is mostly covered in forest, ruled over by the Shilutan forest dragon clan.
  • Skrivia—The Kingdom of Skrivia is ruled by a skriven royal family, but is home to many bestial races.
  • Sorliss—The human Kingdom of Sorliss controlled part of the northern coast of the Crescent Moon Lake, and is currently a tributary of the Xaos Dominion.
  • Suldeinor—A survivor state of the ancient Aerlonesti Empire, the Suldeinor Confederacy remains the most powerful elven nation on Asteropa.
  • Tambria—The Kingdom of Tambria, a human vassal state of the Aerdwish Empire.
  • Tassimar—The Tassimar Reach is named after the bandit king Tassimar. He once conquered the entire region, but it broke apart upon his death as his lieutenants carved up him empire amongst themselves quite violently. Today, it is a collection of independent city-states ruled by the descendents of the original bandits, or ruled by new bandit gangs.
  • Valendar—The Valendar Heartlands is a vast region home to a myriad of races and monsters, city-states, and petty kingdoms.
  • Valroy—The Valroy Republic, a human and halfling nation embroiled in unending revolution.
  • Venicar—The Venicar Republic is a human bastion of civilization corrupt with decadence, but boasting a powerful military.
  • Viridian Marches—A rich land that no nation has been able to hold.
  • Valkirk—The Valkirk Republic is a large coalition of city-states, mostly human, but including cities of elves, dwarves, and halflings.
  • Whismerlund—The gnomish Kingdom of Whismerlund maintains strong connections to Faerie.
  • Xaos—The Xaos Dominion is a human and malephelim militaristic and expansionist empire.
  • Xifangsaifu—Formerly a Xian colony, the Kingdom of Xifangsaifu has now become the gateway to Asteropa for people hailing from the eastern lands beyond the Xianluan ocean.

Daluqiu

  • Cheongsan—A human kingdom known for its historical resistance to being integrated by its larger neighbour of Weilong.
  • Chixuan—The Chixuan Enclave is ruled by a council of nature priests and arcane spellcasters that forbid the use and advancing of technology to counter the Yingji advance. Although humans make up the majority, the nation welcomes significant minorities of elves, gnomes, and halflings.
  • Hanatochi—The human Kingdom of Hanatochi is a member-state of the Dalong Empire.
  • Honkiba—The oni Honkiba Shogunate continuously wars with its neighbours for riches and slaves.
  • Nokhogar—The Nokhogar Steppes is a region of open grasslands inhabited by nomadic halfling tribes that ride large hounds.
  • Weilong—The Weilong Empire is a vast and multiracial and multiethnic union of seventeen kingdoms, centered around the Weilong-hai. Each of the member kingdom's rulers is notably assisted by a dragon vizier.
  • Yingji—The Yingji Wastelands is the domain of the insane artificial intelligence that bears the same name. Unhinged constructs roam the barren lands, exterminating, or more mysteriously, capturing and intelligent organic life they come across.
  • Zhongjie—The human Kingdom of Zhongjie is the traditional imperial seat of the power of the Dalong Empire.
